Celebrating Ramadan

Jack Satter house is hosting an event called “Celebrating Ramadan” with the Peace Islands Institute Boston to build bridges between the Turkish community and the other communities in the Greater Boston Area.

The ninth month of the Islamic calendar, Ramadan, is revered as the most sacred month of the year by Muslims.Muslims who are in good health must fast during the entire month of Ramadan, from dawn to dark; and break-bread by sunset.

This event is mostly about keeping ties strong with the local community in Revere, promoting understanding and respect for elders, and removing barriers and prejudices against the Islamic faith.

6.30 pm: Rabbi Lior & Burak welcomes everyone

6.35 pm Rabbi Lior speaks

6.40 pm: Rabbi Lior invites the president of Jack Satter House

6.45 pm: Burak will welcome everyone and will speak about Ramadan

6.50 pm-7.05: Jack Satter House tenant’s chorus will deliver a performance, followed by our weekend school students.

The event will take place on April 4th from 6.00 pm until 8.30 pm at Jack Satter House, 420 Revere Beach Boulevard.

The event is open to everyone and will include opening remarks, prayers, live music, and traditional Turkish food.

The event is completely free.
