It was a memorable evening filled with cultural richness and unity. \nHighlights: \n\nThe event commenced with welcoming remarks and an overview of the agenda.\nA video presentation on Ramadan provided insights into its significance.\nGuest speakers shared perspectives on Islamic spirituality and the essence of Ramadan.\nThe mesmerizing Whirling Dervish performance captivated everyone present.\nIftar commenced with the Adhan call\, followed by breaking the fast and Maghreb prayer.\nThe dinner featured delicious Uyghur Plov\, Vegetarian Fried Noodle\, and Vegan Lentil Soup\nRepresentatives from the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church expressed their support and appreciation.\nGuest speakers reflected on the importance of spirituality and shared poems from the Sufi tradition.\nThe evening concluded with heartfelt reflections and gratitude to all participants and sponsors.\n\nThis event exemplified the universal message of love\, peace\, and unity inherent in Islam. SUMMARY:THE 6TH ANNUAL MELROSE COMMUNITY IFTAR CELEBRATION
DESCRIPTION:On March 30th\, the Melrose Human Rights Commission is supporting an event in collaboration with the Peace Islands Institute Boston. Iftar is the daily sunset meal to break the fast during the month of Ramadan\, which begins this year at sunset on March 11th and will end on the evening of April 9th. Please join the 6th Annual Melrose Community Iftar Celebration. \nThe event will take place from 6.00 pm until 8.00 pm at Melrose Memorial Hall\, located at 590 Main Street\, Melrose\, MA 02176. It will be open to the public\, and all are welcome! RSVP is required. \nProgram: \n5:45 p.m. – Doors Open \n6:00 – 6:30 p.m. – Activities for children(face painting\, Hanna painting\, etc) and  \nSpeaking Program (Ramadan experiences from different cultures and countries) \n6.30 p.m. – 6.45 pm – Sufi Whirling Dervish Performance ( Semazen) \n6:45 p.m. – 6:50 p.m. – Athan (“call to prayer”) at sunset \n6:50 p.m. – Iftar (“breaking the fast”) Dinner \n8:00 p.m. – The event concludes \nSuggested Donation at the door: $20 per family \nThanks to generous donations of Aida&Murat\, The event is presented in partnership with Peace Islands Institute Boston
